Pastor JeNette Jones Harris

June 26, 1966 ~ July 14, 2020 (age 54)

Death Notice

JeNette Jones Harris affectionately known as “MaryAnn” was born on June 26, 1966 to Rachel Riley and Loucious Jones Sr. at Presbyterian Hospital in Newark N.J. JeNette brought so much joy to all who encountered her. JeNette loved to love and encourage people.

As the oldest of two girls amongst seven boys MaryAnn quickly became a leader.  In school JeNette excelled. She attended Roberto Clemente for Elementary School, Boys Club for 4th grade and 13th Avenue for Middle School where she completed the 8th grade. MaryAnn was chosen to graduate high school early due to high honors and academic success. Unfortunately, she was unable to accept the offer but she continued as an exceptional student at West Side High School where she graduated with her high school diploma in 1984.

JeNette had such a great work ethic and it translated to her career. She started her work career at Bamberger's “Macy” after high school. By 21 she started working at ASCO (Automatic Switch Company where she grew as an administrator. She decided to further her education and attend trade school where she received a certificate in data entry and human resource management. After graduating she started a long career as a human resource manager at CA One Services at Newark Liberty International Airport.

For many years JeNette served at the airport in her managerial role and as a comforter to those looking for Christ. It suited her servant’s heart. After being diagnosed with Lupus in 1999, JeNette left CA One Services and became dedicated to the gospel of Jesus Christ. She attended Eastern Bible Institute, where she graduated with her theology degree and became a licensed minister serving at Christian Pentecost. JeNette immediately started serving faithfully in her community cooking at Newark soup kitchens, mentoring youth, throwing epic family cookouts and events and her favorite preaching the gospel.

In 2006 she proudly purchased her first home and moved her children to Phillipsburg, NJ. JeNette had a strong desire to give her children the best and make sure they had what they needed to excel. In 2009, she was ordained as a Pastor and held bible study in her home.  She later joined Greater Shiloh Church in Easton, PA, under the leadership of Senior Pastor Phillip Davis and Pastor Kristina Davis, where she faithfully served.

JeNette loved the word of God. She loved to study it, teach it and break it down. She was a true worshipper who worshipped in spirit and in truth. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Romans 8:28 — “And we know that all things work together for the good, for them that loved the Lord and are called according to his purpose.”

If you asked JeNette to tell you about herself, this is what she would say, “ I love the Lord Jesus with my heart, mind, body and soul. I try to the utmost of my ability to live a life that is exemplary of the word of God. I love my children, grandchildren, family and friends dearly. I also love the rain(any day), water of any kind (ocean, sea, lake, water fall) and cooking, reading and writing are a few of my pastimes. God is most definitely the center of my JOY.

I also love  to eat Ice..... preferably crushed but will eat whatever kind of ice that is available. Lol. Favor ain’t fair my favorite way to end a prayer is to say...And it is so, and so it is. The Fear of us and the dread of us is upon the devil and his emps...Amen”.

She transitioned home to glory on July 14th 2020 at 11:47 am telling her family, “Mommy is coming to get me. I will be alright”.

JeNette is survived by her husband Ronnie Harris, her children Kiyaana Cox Jones (James L Jones Jr.), Joshua Burton (Amber McDonald), Amiracle Adiva Harris, Jasmine Williams, Andrew Williams, Calvin Riley, AnQuan Williams, her brothers Loucious Jones Jr, (Sabrina Jones), Joseph Roper, Thomas Riley, Melvin Riley (Lucy Riley), Vaness Roper (Patricia Noon), Calvin Riley Sr. and her sister Rachel Jones; grandchildren, Messiah Jones, James Jones III, Elijah Jones, JeNette Bostic, Jazmina Bostic Williams, Josiah Ellison, Savannah-Grace, and Alohnaa Burton ; plus her many nephews and nieces.
