Mattie Kears

Mattie Kears was born April 1, 1947 to the late Major and Mahalia Mary Jefferson in Newark New Jersey. Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, her son James Jefferson and a beloved  sister Hattie Burks, she had one son James Jefferson. James blessed Mattie with two children Millenniah Mahalia Jefferson and  Ishmael Dywane Terry. Brian (Emily Jefferson) and Milleniah were born to the same mother, and were both adopted by Mattie as young children. Mattie Moved to  Allentown Pa where she would serve God and bring her children up in the Christian faith at the Union Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Benjamin T. Hailey. Her passion was outreach and she would certainly help you if she could. While in Newark she work as a home health aid. Though Ms. Matties had a host of friends in her last days when many of us were unable to be there. God sent her an angel and  special friend Lisa Quawee who loved on her till her end. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Millenniah Mahalia Jefferson, and Brian Jefferson (Emily Jefferson) a grandson  Ishmael Dywane Terry. Two great grandaughters Kiara Redmond 6 and Neveah Jefferson 1 and one great grandson Tyaire Terry 12 and a friend Paula Fields. Mattie Kears will be missed, we loved her, but God loved her best.

Funeral Services will take place on Thursday at 12PM in Ripple Church  1421 W. Turner St. Allentown.  Viewing begins at 11AM.  Interment will follow services in Greenwood Cemetery.
