David E Schomp, Jr.

David E. Schomp, Jr., 77, of Palmer Township, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, in St. Luke’s Hospital-Easton Campus. Born December 10, 1946, in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late David E. and Carol (Bean) Schomp.  He and his wife, Jacquelyn “Jackie” (Brixius) Schomp, celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2023. Dave was a 1966 graduate of Wilson High School. He was the third-generation owner of Bean, Inc., Contractors, serving as president from 1992-2012. Along with Bean, Inc., he was an operating engineer for Local 542 since 1968.

 Dave collected antique cars and Lionel trains and was a Lehigh Valley railroad, Bethlehem Steel and Easton area historian. 

He was a member of Easton Area Jaycees where he served as president, the National and Lehigh Valley Region Antique Automobile Club of America, and the Train Collectors of America.

In addition to his wife, Jackie, he is survived by a daughter, Louise Schomp Smith and her husband Kevin, of Tatamy; a son, David E. Schomp III and his wife Katie, of Bangor; a sister, Karen Noel and her husband Nicholas III, of Palmer Township; five grandchildren, Madlyn and Theodore Smith, Tyson, Charlotte and Kelton Schomp; a niece, Carol Michaels and her husband Tom; a nephew, Nicholas Noel IV and his wife Allison; great nieces; and his mother-in-law, Alice Brixius, of Tamarac, FL.

A memorial service will be held at 4pm 2101 Northampton St., Wilson Borough. Call Monday 2-4pm  Private interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
