Sylvester Crawford

Sylvester Johnson Crawford,63,of Harrisburg, Pa. was called home to be with the lord on August 8th, 2018. born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 16th 1954.Sylvester graduated from Dieruff High School, he enlisted in the Marine Corp and received an honorable discharge. He returned home and worked for the Bethlehem Steel. After leaving Bethlehem Steel Sylvester joined the Navy and served on the U.S.S. Midway for several years. He was also honorably discharged from the Navy. Returning home,Sylvester worked as a mechanic, received his CDL and became a truck driver for Harrisburg Dairies. He also worked as a fork lift driver for the Navy Depot in Mechanicsburg, Pa. Survivors: Sylvester leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 28 years, Marlene Hymans Crawford,sons Adrean Jamal Askemeese (wife Flora) of Temecula, CA, Darnell Hymans (wife Jennifer) of New Bloomfield, Pa. his daughter Lianna of Steelton, Pa. 3 siblings, Gwendolyn Johnson of Johnstown, Pa. Cheryl Ann Johnson of Allentown, Pa. and Eric Johnson of Brookins ,SD. 7 grandchildren, Amare, Imani, Jahieel & Mattias Askemeese, Anthony and Jaden Hymans, Gabrieelle Kellam and a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Garrett and Rosie Lee (Crawford) Johnson, 5 brothers, Garrett Jr., Daryl, Reginald, Terri Johnson and Paul Crawford

Funeral Services will take place on Friday at 11AM in the Funeral Home.  Viewing begins at 10AM.  Interment will follow services in Greenwood Cemetery.
